Parish Weekend 5 to 7 April, Wychcroft
Leading a full life in uncertain times
The world around us seems ever-changing and the pace of life frenetic. How do we live out our Christian calling to be light in the world in the midst of uncertainty?
At the Parish weekend this year, we will explore this question as individuals and as a church community. The sessions will be led by Revd Caroline Risdon, largely focusing on Henri Nouwen's book, Life of the Beloved - Spiritual Living in a Secular World.'
The retreat will take place at Wychcroft from Friday 5 January evening to Sunday 7 April lunchtime. We invite you to take personal time for relaxation, reflection and prayer with other members of our church at the Diocesan Retreat Centre at Wychcroft, a country house in its own grounds in a beautiful hidden corner of the Surrey countryside near Redhill.
You are strongly encouraged to come for the whole weekend in order to fully benefit from this opportunity to rest and be together. Participants arrive from teatime on Friday for supper at 6.30pm followed by a short introductory session. We leave after lunch on Sunday. Those who come only for the Saturday sessions will be expected to stay the whole day. Unfortunately we cannot provide a children’s crèche. This is a retreat for those aged 14 and over.
